More about the Emshwillers:
Carol Emshwiller (1921 – 2019) was an American writer of avant-garde stories and science fiction who won prizes for her work including the Nebula Award to the Philip K. Dick Award. Ursula K. Le Guin has called her "a major fabulist, a marvelous magical realist, one of the strongest, most complex, most consistently feminist voices in fiction."
With an immensely diverse body of creative work, Ed Emshwiller (1925-90) is perhaps one of the most significant yet under-recognized artists of the latter half of the 20th century. Emshwiller’s career spanned abstract expressionist painting, commercial illustration, film, video, and computer art, and collaborations with dancers, choreographers, and composers."
Susan Emshwiller’s worn several hats: filmmaker, playwright, screenwriter, director, set decorator, actress, painter, teacher. In Hollywood, her “day-job” for many years was as a set-decorator for directors such as Michael Apted, David Mamet, and Robert Altman. As an actress, she was featured in Robert Altman's The Player.
