About the film
A silent film star falls for a chorus girl just as he and his delusionally jealous screen partner are trying to make the difficult transition to talking pictures in 1920s Hollywood.
It’s an extravaganza of color, joy and mockery of hokey romances, but perhaps above all, you couldn’t re-create the miracle of Gene Kelly’s footwork with a billion-dollar supercomputer and a contract with the devil.
