The Current El Niño and What It Might Mean

The current El Niño—warming of waters in the Pacific Ocean—threatens to bring global temperatures to new record levels and create extreme weather events such as flooding and drought. The common belief is that El Niño has brought increased rain to Santa Fe in the past. We will look at this history as well as other ocean patterns that affect warming.

Steven Rudnick holds a Ph.D. in Marine Chemistry and regularly blogs on climate change. He was faculty and Director of Environmental Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Coffee and pastries from La Rana Coffee and classic movie theater concessions from Sky Midtown will be available in the lobby.
